Kyvan and the Divine

In a nutshell, Nophra was created by Kyvan, who essentially did so out of boredom. He is an infinitely powerful entity, and bringing a new world to life is an easy task for him. He infused the planet with ample amounts of magic, but it still required upkeep as it would fall out of balance as soon as it was left on its own.

Normally, Kyvan would not have batted an eye at the idea of moving on from one of his creations and letting its life burn out. This time, for whatever reason, he wished to preserve this world and allow it to flourish independently. Such a task requires a lot more attentiveness than he cared to provide for himself, so he created 6 children to assist him with the upkeep of balance, with the eventual goal of ceasing interference with Nophra completely.

The demigods are considered to be half god, and half Nophran. Their abilities are not as boundless as Kyvan's, but they are the literal embodiment of Nophra's 6 elements and their power is what keeps the world alive and healthy. They do not have contact with Kyvan, instead his instructions were woven into their very beings, making them innately dedicated to preserving life on Nophra no matter the cost. Their god half grants them immortality and logic-breaking access to Kyvan's magic, while their Nophran half gives them empathy and love for all of life on Nophra.

The Demigods

The Demigods spend most of their time on the Astral Isles, but they all have distinct personalities and interests. Some prefer to stay far away from the mainland, while some of them like to shapeshift and disguise themselves to walk among mortals.

Outside of their duties keeping Nophra balanced, the demigods all contribute to sparking Crystali life. Their influence can contribute as much to an offspring's element as the parents' does. For the most part, children will inherit some form of their parents' magic, but it's not uncommon for new elements to be unexpectedly introduced to their bloodlines.
